My Story

My Background

I am a woman Asian migrant based in Aotearoa New Zealand from Taiwan. I moved with my parents and sister to live in the Waikato region in New Zealand about 3 decades ago.

I enjoy various roles such as being an caring new mother to our son, an administrator at work, a design student, loving wife and daughter, enthusiastic friend, and willing community volunteer.

What I Do

I am currently employed at a non-profit social services agency. I am also a sole trader working on web design and admin support. Recently I am training to become a designer.

My Offers

I am planning to offer digital products for sale. I also hope to share my system and processes so that you could increase productivity, stay organised, and enjoy creativity as part of your wellbeing practice.

Challenges I Face

Being a migrant is stressful and I have felt unable to communicate, isolated and lacked a sense of belonging to the point of having mental health crises in my teens. My educational background was in biochemical engineering but in my twenties I wasn't sure what profession I wanted to go into. After graduating from a Masters Degree I struggled for years, it was hard to find stable employment. I returned to study design because I like to be creative. Still something was missing. A mentor of mine suggested I reach out for volunteer opportunities.

My Professional Journey

I began as a receptionist volunteer on Tuesday afternoons. The transferable skills from my engineering training allowed me to excel at the admin tasks and I was hired as paid employee after a trial period. Since then other mentors have guided me to participate in volunteering for various non-profit committees. After at least 5 years in my various community service roles I have become a Justice of the Peace.

My Core Values

I love my family and I am passionate about caring for ourselves so we flourish and thrive in the communities we belong to.

My Point of Difference

I have encountered a myriad of challenges during difficult turning points in my life. Some struggles I faced are mental health related so my focus area to work on are to do with wellbeing. Specifically living with bipolar disorder, being a creative person and staying well.

My Commitment to You

In this website you will find me sharing my system and processes for productivity, organisation and creativity to find balance and stay well. I am continuously a work in progress and I promise to be an authentic voice sharing my vulnerabilities.
