We birth Joseph via induction from Friday the 9th August 2024.

The photo is me having skin to skin with Joseph.

The induction consisted of a maximum of 16 doses of medication to bring on labour. I needed 14 doses for my labour to become established.

The second half of the induction was more and more painful.

I was 4cm dilated when our midwife was called. She arrived and we transferred into the birthing suite.

From then on I had laughing gas to relieve pain.

I felt the urge to push and after about an hour, the obstetrician arrived to advise that an episiotomy be performed. I agreed and after the procedure, I pushed.

Finally, Joseph was born 7.18am Sunday 11th August 2024.
